Cupcakes and Keepsakes at Bishop Wilton Show York Sunday 17th of July

The weather for the show was rain then sun then rain then sun again! But we were safe and dry in the craft tent. The giant cupcake got people talking, which is part of the reason I love to do take my cupcakes to shows.

The rocky road fridge cake was popular too, but the real hit was our chocolate flake cupcakes which look a bit like ice-creams. Chocolate is always a hit.

The show offered something for everyone with dressage competitions, a half marathon (lots of hungry runners afterwards) and a brass band and beer tent. We bought some beautiful local honey, which apparently helps hayfever sufferers because it helps build an immunity to local pollen!

The cupcake brooches were popular and at only £2.95 each, practically irresistable and utterly calorie free!

Cupcakes and Keepsakes Launch (15% Off First Order)

My desire to bake is an overwhelming urge some days. My little girl is six months now and I take every nap as an opportunity to do something for the Cupcakes and Keepsakes launch. Of course, the washing up needs to be done but hey, I need to do something for me, too. It is my 'thing'. Some people sew, some people are good at sports. Not me! I bake. I have just recently found my forté. My Tiffany Ring Box cupcake was my latest little project.

The website is looking good and we're on yell.com. I wouldn't have taken the time to do al this if i hadn't had so many lovely comments about my cupcake creations. My mum, who is incredibly talented, makes the trinkets. These include cupcake brooches and picture frames, feather brooches and handbags, to name but a few. I'm waiting for a new battery for the good camera so will get more on the website soon.

I may be supplying some food outlets in Selby with the Velvet Vanilla variety so i'm very excited about that. I'm looking forward to getting the orders going. I'm working on a leaflet which offers 15% off your first purchase so it's a good job i have a new oven! Although, my old one made truly yummy buns, even though it would get up to 250 when the dial read 130 degrees!
